The Steelers preseason home opener versus the Detroit Lions on August 12 has been moved to a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The game was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. but was moved to accommodate the NFL Network. The team’s Week 1 preseason home opener will still be televised locally on KDKA-TV (Channel 2).
The Steelers have released cornerback Cortez Allen.
Allen entered the NFL as a fourth-round (128th overall) draft selection of the Steelers in 2011. He appeared in 56 career regular-season games (18 starts) and totaled 150 tackles (25 solo), 34 passes defensed and six interceptions.
