Steelers claimed linebacker L.J. Fort off waivers from the New England Patriots.
Fort was released by the Patriots on August 18, 2015. He also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns. Fort originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Northern Iowa on May 9, 2012. He will wear No. 54.
To make room for Fort on the roster, the Steelers placed linebacker Jordan Zumwalt on the team’s Waived/Injured List.
