The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Vance Worley from the Minnesota Twins for
cash considerations in a minor league deal. The announcement was made by Pirates Senior Vice President,
General Manager Neal Huntington.
Worley, who was outrighted off Minnesota’s roster on Friday, went 1-5 in 10 starts with the Twins last
year while also spending time at Triple-A Rochester, where he posted a 6-3 record and 3.88 ERA in nine
starts.
The 26-year Worley made his big league debut with the Phillies in 2010 and posted a career-high 11 wins
and 119 strikeouts one year later in 25 appearances (21 starts) for Philadelphia.
